About Christina Walker, MEd, MAcOM, LAc and Red Pony Medicine, LLC
Christina Walker grew up in rural Ohio, moved to Pittsburgh to attend graduate school, and became a teacher, focusing on English as a Second Language. While teaching, one of her students told her stories of his childhood in China. He said that when he was little, he broke his arm and his mother took him to a man who applied an herbal paste to his arm, used a few needles here and there, put his arm in a sling and sent him home. Every day they went to see this man, who applied more herbs and did some acupuncture, and within a month, his arm was healed. Christina found this fascinating - no cast, no hospital, no surgery - just needles and herbs. She was amazed and intrigued. This story opened the doorway to Qi - what it is, how it heals, and how every living thing on this planet is infused with it. Christina's students were surprised that she knew about Qi and that she did Qigong on a regular basis. Qigong has been the one constant in Christina's life. No matter what life serves up, it was there waiting in the wings. It has changed her life in ways she never thought possible. It has allowed her to find that calm, still space inside and listen - really listen - to the voice within all of us that speaks the truth and provides direction.
Christina received her Master's in Education from the University of Pittsburgh and her Master's of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. She is licensed by the State of Ohio Medical Board, the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners and Nationally Board Certified in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Christina is a certified Qigong instructor and has been practicing Qigong for more than 13 years.
